BIG SALE – NOT CRAP!

BIG SALE - NOT CRAP! - 30% Off At ANTI/gen : use coupon code NOTCRAP

we have a most excellent announcement for you: we’re having our first sale.

aptly named, BIG SALE – NOT CRAP!

for those of you who hate reading, or just hate reading my gibberish, all you need to know is that from now until February 25th, 2009, you can use code NOTCRAP during checkout to receive 30% off any order.

we’re most definitely in a recession. and, the only way out is to somehow renew our confidence; confidence that when we trade with our money we’re getting a sweet deal. think about that.

our selection is small, we know that. that’s mostly because we’re just getting started. but, we also know that we were very particular in what we decided to carry — we knew were going to start small so we had to make sure everything we picked was badass… and, we feel, it is.

so, in doing our part, we want to enable you to stretch your dollar… get some killer clothing at a killer discount. recession or not, you need clothes. you could stick the burlap potato-sack dress or barrel-and-suspenders, but as fun as a bung-hole sounds, does anyone actually know where to get a barrel? (and if you did, would it be 30% off?!)

to be honest, we don’t even give ourselves this discount so you know you’re getting a steal.

so, if you’re still on the fence about that tee or those jeans, don’t forget that being small — our stock is very limited. you’ve got 30 days to get the discount, but there’s likely only one of your size.

remaking america

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

i am generally very proud to be an american, particularly when reading of the principles, events, arguments, actions and more that our founding fathers (and mothers), and following generations, have shared, molding the evolving nation that is the united states of america.

my pride, though, was in this nostalgic concept of america and what i interpreted our fore-father’s intended for it to be(come).

what america more recently came to represent, however, well… let’s just say my pride and faith in government and fellow americans, and humanity as a whole for that matter, has been slowly decaying if not already to the point of nonexistent… numb.

and then he is elected,
and not just by me, but us.
and then he is inaugurated.
and now, the dream is no more,
for it is no longer a dream, but reality.

not omniscient, nor infallible,
but certainly inspirational –
and really, that’s what i think we need –
or at least, what i need.
he doesn’t just have a long road ahead of him;
we have a long road ahead of us.
and, we can all use a little hope.

vary cool internets

Monday, January 12th, 2009

hey all you cyberpunks: i feel like i owe you an update so here goes… in the few breaks I’ve received in the past week or so, I’ve discovered a few fun sites/things-you-can-learn-more-about-on-the-internet that I’d like to share. the following list is totally random (organizationally, anyway) but i think if you really look into them you’ll be entertained:

note: not sure if i need to say this or not, but if it helps, NSFW. in fact, NSFL.

  • sweater kittens – this one might necessitate some disambiguity — not to be confused with slang for boobs, sweater kittens are apparently an up-and-coming fetish regarding fluffy sweaters and hotties. i’ve yet to find a good example site to link to (let me know if you’ve got one) but the idea makes me laugh. courtesy of tyson.
  • f2bbs – practically a snapshot of any given forum on the internet in the late 90’s – anonymity definitely brings out the worst in a lot of people, namely 13 year olds who can’t cuss in front of their parents. however, it does occasionally prove to be both true and entertaining. discovered this through a comment on an article in the mercury news about a family almost dying for eating mushrooms they found in the woods. wtf?
  • headset hotties – i almost pissed my pants checking this out. to top it off, the rating system is hysterically based on “perceived helpfulness”. comedic genius. thanks rafael.
  • shhh!tv – ok this one is a little late, but funny and aesthetically/technically almost like the tv application we’ve been working on. funny thing is, the tv app i’m developing is actually utilizing the same (and my favorite) framework as they use for their backend: cakephp. get into it.
